Why this exists
My twin daughters left for a week of church camp, no phones allowed. Before they went they sat me down and handed me written instructions: log into their Duolingo, their BeReal, their Locket, every morning, so their streaks would not die while they were gone.
I did it. Every morning at 6am, for a week, for apps I do not use and a cartoon owl I have no feelings about. I just did not want to be the one who broke the streak.
It worked on me. So I figured it would work on a 16 year old with an SAT in April. I built what my son needed, real questions with the reasoning written out, wrapped in the streak mechanics that had me up at 6am all week. He used it. Then his friends wanted in.

Is Ember really free?
The Daily Challenge, 10 questions a day, is free forever, no ads. Full SAT training across the rest of the question bank is a one-time $99 purchase good for a full year, not a subscription. ACT Study Hall is the same one-time $99, and a combined SAT + ACT bundle is $179. A free account is required to sync your progress and streak across any device you log in on, and to purchase full access.
How do I get full access?
Go to the More tab and tap "Get full access" under Access, or you'll see the same option once you reach the free daily limit. SAT Study Hall, ACT Study Hall, and the SAT + ACT Bundle are each a one-time payment through Stripe, no subscription.
Do I need to create an account?
No, an account is optional. Today's Daily Challenge and building a streak both work with zero sign-up, saved right in your browser. Creating a free account lets a student's streaks, XP, and certificates sync across devices instead of staying stuck on one, and it's how progress reports get sent if you turn those on. You can add more than one student under a single account, each student's own Study Hall access is priced separately.
Does it match the current digital SAT format?
Questions are original and modeled on the digital SAT's eight topics and question styles, and timed mode uses realistic per-question pacing. For full-length adaptive test simulation, pair this app with College Board's official Bluebook practice tests. They're the only true simulation of test day.
What is the Daily Challenge?
